This weekend marked the grand opening of The 606 and the Bloomingdale Trail; an elevated trail and green space on Chicago’s west side.
The Bloomingdale Trail is an adaptive reuse of an abandoned freight rail line that runs through Wicker Park, Bucktown, Logan Square and Humboldt Park.
This video spotlights the opening day festivities which included marching bands, pop-up art exhibits and a street festival. Beth White, of the Trust for Public Land, also tells us about how the 2.7 mile trail came to be.
