As National Pet Month comes to a close, we want to spotlight Orphans of the Storm, a local animal shelter.
Many of the animals at Orphans come from rural Tennessee, where they have very lax spay and neuter laws, resulting in an enormous over-population of abandoned, feral animals.
Thanks to partnerships with shelters in Tennessee, Orphans is able to bring these animals to the Chicago area, saving them from euthanasia.
